QR Codes on Water Bottles & Cans
QR codes on water bottles and cans turn your custom label into a living marketing tool. Print it once, then change where the code points whenever you like — so you can launch a new seasonal promotion, menu, playlist, review link, or special offer without redesigning or reprinting your label. It’s one of the easiest ways to keep a custom canned water or custom bottled water program feeling fresh all year.

Why add QR codes to your water bottles and cans?
- Refresh campaigns by season — same can or bottle, new destination. Point it at a holiday offer in December and a summer event in July.
- Send drinkers anywhere — menus, promotions, Google reviews, event pages, donation forms, RSVP links, playlists, Wi‑Fi, or your social profiles.
- Measure engagement — use a dynamic QR service and you can see how many people scan.
- Proven across industries — we print QR codes every week for real estate open houses, churches, gyms, hospitality, insurance offices, and events.

Keep the QR code small — especially on a can
Because a can — and a bottle — is round, a large code curves away from the camera at its left and right edges. The little squares (“modules”) bunch together and fall into shadow, and phones struggle to lock on. A smaller QR code that sits on the flat middle of the panel stays flat to the camera and scans on the first try.

- Keep it small. About ¾″–1″ is plenty. Bigger is not better here.
- Center it on the flat of the panel. Stay away from the seam and the rolled top and bottom edges where the curve is sharpest.
- Use high contrast. A dark code on a light, quiet background reads best; avoid busy artwork directly behind it.
- Leave a quiet zone. Keep a clear margin all the way around the code.
- Always test-scan a real printed can (or bottle) before you run the full order.
Common questions about QR codes on water bottles and cans
How big should a QR code be on a can?
Keep it small — about ¾ to 1 inch — and center it on the flat middle of the panel. A large code wraps around the can’s curve and becomes hard to scan.
Can you change what a QR code links to after it’s printed?
Yes. With a dynamic QR code you can update the destination anytime, so the same water bottle or can can point to a new seasonal promotion without redesigning the label.
Do QR codes work on both water bottles and cans?
Yes. We print QR codes on custom aluminum cans and bottled water labels — just keep the code small, high-contrast, and on the flattest part of the label.
Popular ways brands use a QR code on their water
- Real estate & open houses — link to the listing, a video walkthrough, or the agent’s contact card.
- Restaurants, bars & cafes — point to a digital menu, daily specials, or a reservation page.
- Events & weddings — share the schedule, an RSVP form, a registry, or the photo album.
- Churches & nonprofits — connect to a giving page, newsletter signup, or event calendar.
- Gyms, hotels & offices — offer a class schedule, Wi‑Fi login, review link, or loyalty signup.
